We are delighted to be working with Hedley Studios to grow their Procurement team. I'm looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Technical Buyer to support the timely procurement of prototype and project components and assemblies for the design and manufacture of their products.
The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a small close-knit team. Hedley are a fast moving start up, and a ‘can do’ attitude is essential. Hedley Studios stand at the intersection between art and automotive excellence, transcending traditional boundaries to craft vehicles that are both luxury collectable and functional art pieces. Based at Bicester Heritage since 2020, they expertly hand-build each creation and are building a unique legacy of unmatched elegance and exclusivity.
Principal role accountabilities:
1. Life-cycle responsibility delivering high quality, value for money components into Hedley Studios
2. Accountability for cost and budget management for direct-spend portfolios
3. New supplier identification and introduction into Hedley Studios
4. Deliver commodity strategy in line with business requirements aligned with the organisation’s key stakeholders.
5. Reference and awareness of technology and quality roadmaps within scope.
6. Work cross-functionally with all departments to drive core quality, cost principles and process.
Skills & experience:
Essential:
1. Previous procurement experience
2. A strong, clear and confident communicator.
3. Ability to work to deadlines and demands.
4. Keen attention to accuracy and detail.
5. Proven commercial background / strong negotiator.
6. Enthusiastic and self-motivated to work autonomously.
7. Experience within small/medium businesses
8. Engineering and technical knowledge
9. Experience of ERP Systems – Ideally SAP B1
Nice to have:
1. Electrical Commodity experience
2. Previous manufacturing / automotive procurement experience
3. Knowledge of niche Production/Assembly environments
4. Able to understand and interpret detailed component and assembly drawings.
5. Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes and their appropriate selection.
