Quality Engineer Salary: Competitive Location: Northampton Job Type: Permanent What does the role involve? EMBS Engineering has been tasked by our client to identify a Quality Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis, located at their site in Northampton. Our client is a reputable precision engineering company that specialises in the manufacture of complex, machined components for lucrative customers. Due to the continued growth of the business and following new additions already into the quality department, they are looking to further expand the team by recruiting a dedicated Quality Engineer who will work alongside the current Senior Quality Engineer. The primary objective is to assure the conformance of both bought-in and in-house manufactured components as well as creating and recording quality documentation to ensure they meet customers requirements. This role is a dynamic and versatile role that will offer autonomy and the opportunity to express yourself as a Quality Engineer. Key Responsibilities include: Assist with the preparation of APQP and PPAP for new and existing projects as required by Customer Working with complex documentation and process control plans including: 8D, ISIR, Control Plan, Process Flow Chart, In Process Quality Check, Quality Care Point, FMEA, Packaging Instruction, Process Description, MSA studies, IMDS reports Work alongside Production Engineering using Quality Tools to validate new and improved processes Perform basic manual and visual inspections Perform internal audits What experience do you need? 5 years minimum experience performing a Quality Engineer position within a precision engineering market - Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, Formula One etc. Fully conversant with Quality Tools - Control Plans, ISIR, 8D etc Strong knowledge of core quality tools - APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC ISO9001 internal auditor certification Capable of maintaining and improving QMS' Ability to create and compile FAIRs Use of Visual FAIR software - advantageous but not essential Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Knowledge of CMM What do you get?
