Position Summary
To ensure all staff are appropriately trained and developed.
To plan, prepare, deliver, assess and evaluate training, encompassing all aspects of decontamination and other subjects as necessary, providing ongoing support to help improve site quality performance, compliance and production targets and ensure Health & Safety is adhered to consistently. To carry a caseload of apprenticeship learners to achieve their qualification
Duties
Conduct practical technical training in all aspects of decontamination in all areas of a site, taking in to account all job roles and all shift patterns relating to work procedures.
Carry out any other training task as required by RTM, including Health & Safety, HR and other company training as required.
Have a sound understanding of job specific functions and tasks and the training requirements associated with these functions.
Working with the RTM, ensure evaluation after delivery of induction training taking into consideration feedback, assessment outcomes, effectiveness and action required within agreed timescales.
Ensure that any assessment outcomes are achieved, monitored and actioned accordingly, including, carrying out the Operator to Technician assessments as agreed with the unit manager.
Ensure training is carried out within agreed timescales.
Monitoring and Management of the Training Matrix and ensure that requirements are met in a timely manner and is kept up to date.

Ensure the secure filing and maintenance of up-to-date Training Records.
Maintenance and regular updating of training records in line with the QMS system requirements.
Carry out random checks regularly on trained employees to ensure that QMS procedures are being followed.
Where required, to provide computer-based training, including SynergyTrak, as appropriate for specific job roles.
To complete Training Reviews and Site Audits to determine procedure compliance and undertake a training needs analysis where requested.
Monitor and review progress of individual employee and report routinely to RTM and unit management.
Liaise with unit management to resolve specific training needs that have been identified.
Maintaining a safe and healthy training environment by following STERIS and other standards.

Where required, assist employees to complete the management of basic Instrument E-Learning ensuring that all current guidelines are followed consistently.
Ensure unit specific defects are addressed in liaison with the RTM and General Manager
Motivate learners to attain peak productivity, performance and compliance levels.
Where applicable, be flexible to ensure regular visits
Maintaining relationships with customers and delivering customer training where requested.
Work alongside colleagues in all work environments, predominantly ‘shop-floor’, modelling good practice and providing support and guidance.
Ensure a safe environment, complying with all relevant legislation, regulations and STERIS policies and procedures.
Monitor and review progress of individual employee and report routinely to RTM and unit management.

Account for all learner needs and adjust training as necessary to include all learners.
Ensure that all learners are treated fairly and with respect and ensure that principles of equality, diversity and inclusion are consistently applied
Take responsibility for own continuous professional development. Maintain technical knowledge by attending technical workshops where relevant and review technical publications and guidance related to decontamination.
Become members of the Central Sterilisation Club or IDSc
Attend local, regional and national meetings and required.
Be working towards and achieve a minimum of the Level 3 Education & Training Award
Skills
1. Level 3 qualification in Education and Training or equivalent, or be prepared to work towards and achieve or Level 2 qualification in decontamination or equivalent is desirable
2. Previous experience in Sterile Services is essential
3. Previous experience of training, Mentoring or coaching employees
4. Must have good standard of written, verbal & numeric ability at level 2 or
5. equivalent
6. Extensive knowledge of decontamination and sterile services
7. Excellent practical skills in sterile services- reprocessing
8. Sound understanding of SOP’s and QMS systems
9. Excellent organisation skills
10. Ability to prioritise, plan and deliver training schedules
11. Ability to work with a diverse range of employees and adjust training according to needs
