Key Responsibilities of a Prep Chef:
1. Ingredient Preparation: Washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, grating, and otherwise prepping all necessary ingredients like vegetables, fruits, herbs, meats, and seafood.
2. Portioning Ingredients: Accurately measuring and portioning ingredients to maintain consistency in dishes.
3. Food Safety Compliance: Adhering to proper food handling and sanitation practices, including rotating stock and checking expiration dates.
4. Inventory Management: Monitoring ingredient levels and informing the head chef when supplies need restocking.
5. Basic Cooking Tasks: Performing simple cooking tasks like sautéing onions, boiling potatoes, or making basic sauces as needed.
6. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the prep station and kitchen equipment clean and organized.
7. Following Recipes and Instructions: Carefully adhering to the head chef's recipes and instructions for preparation.
Experience: Not required
Languages: English – Advanced
Employment: Full-time
Salary: £10 – £13 hourly
