Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager to join our gynaecology team looking after gynaecological and surgical patients on the ward, Early Pregnancy Unit, and on the Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit. This will provide an excellent foundation in this specialty for interested individuals either at the beginning of their career journey or someone looking for career development.
The successful applicant needs to have an interest in women's health, excellent communication skills, and work well within a multidisciplinary team.
The ward aims to provide a high standard of care and is committed to continual service improvement within the specialty. The ward is a 22-bedded ward, and care is provided to patients receiving gynaecological and female surgery.
Some experience of working within a gynaecology setting would be an advantage, though this is not essential as full training and support will be provided.
Candidates should be forward-thinking, be able to demonstrate good clinical and assessment skills, and manage the team in the absence of the ward manager. The ability to support the ward manager in managing the ward in a fast-paced and challenging environment; to demonstrate excellent communication, decision-making, and motivational skills along with patient-centered care are essential qualities for this post.
Main Duties of the Job
You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and have an understanding of how to improve and provide safe, quality care for patients and their relatives.
If you are dedicated to improving the patient experience and committed to providing a positive environment for colleagues and patients, then this clinical area will enhance your job satisfaction by developing your clinical and managerial skills. The division is committed to supporting your continuous professional development in line with your personal development plan.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
