Senior Construction Manager - Civils Overview: As a Senior Construction Manager, you will play a part within the Construction Delivery Team at the Hinkley Point C nuclear site in West Somerset. You will be responsible for overseeing construction activities managed by Tier 1 contract partners, working closely with the project leads and subcontractors. The role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing construction activities to ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards, as well as meeting schedule milestones. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Manage and develop Construction Delivery Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance. Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards during construction activities. Inspections: Conduct regular safety and assurance inspections to maintain high standards. Meetings: Lead weekly planning and construction meetings to coordinate activities and address issues. Contractor Oversight: Oversee contractor management of logistics and contracts, ensuring efficient operations. Support: Assist Tier 1 partners in delivering their scope of work effectively. Temporary Measures: Recommend and implement temporary measures to address safety and quality concerns promptly. Reporting: Review and escalate issues through detailed reports, ensuring timely resolution. RAM's Addendums: Assist in the production and validation of RAM's Addendums. Work Authorization: Approve Work Authorisation Forms (WAF) for areas under control. Requirements: Essential: Experience: Proven experience in strategic site planning, construction sequencing, and resource allocation. Commercial Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial principles in construction. Reporting Skills: Ability to produce concise and detailed reports. Project Delivery: Experience in delivering large, complex projects. Education: Relevant degree in Civil Construction. Regulations: In-depth understanding of CDM Regulations. Skills: Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and perform under pressure. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH, SMSTS, or IOSH. Desirable: Experience in high-security or nuclear environments. Experience of civils including concrete/foundations and reinforced structures. Experience of managing large teams and implementing strategic plans.
