Join our team at Keolis Amey Metrolink (KAM), the largest light rail network in the UK We are recruiting for a Senior Track Maintainer who will be responsible for assisting the inspection, maintenance and repair activities of the Permanent Way (PWay) here at KAM. You’ll play an integral role, leading, supervising and supporting the Track Maintainers delivering to a high standard all required inspection and maintenance activities to specification, quality and safety requirements. Your role will be required to cover in the absence of the Track Maintenance Supervisor as and when required. Champion health and safety and what good looks like, ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of the Pway team by embedding “Just Culture” in all ways of working. Key accountabilities will include: Assist the Track Maintenance supervisor in planning and allocation of Pway works / projects. Supervise the day-to-day activities and provide active support within the team. Ensures track maintenance activities are completed to a high standard. Participate in incident investigations and implements necessary corrective action. Ensure that the workbank is updated with accurate data for the safe management of the infrastructure. To undertake ‘Supervisor’ and cab ride inspections of the infrastructure as required by the maintenance Track Engineer, under the instructions of the supervisor. Provide prompt feedback, advice and guidance from inspections of items of concern, escalating matters where appropriate. To participate in regular team and safety briefings and cascade down the information to the Pway Team. Cover the team briefings in the absence of the track Maintenance Supervisor. Manage and maintain the records as required for contractual delivery. Appropriate Asset Management through identification and prioritisation of work. Lead outcomes that promote a customer centric approach to ways of working. What you’ll bring: Permanent Way (PWay) Inspection and maintenance experience (essential) with suitable qualification or evidence of continuous professional development. Knowledge of HASAW policies Metrolink Competences such as, but not limited to, S053 appreciation, PICOP, PIC, Lookout, Switcher, Track Inspection. Good knowledge of the essential IT systems including the Microsoft applications. Safety focused with the ability to promote and embed safe working practices and behaviours that align to KAMs values and safety principles. Situational Awareness and ability to anticipate risks.
