The Associated Press seeks two live video producers to work on our global output of daily video, to be based in London. Reporting to the news editor for live video, you will work as part of an editorial team and will be focused on the speedy delivery of AP’s live video news.
Responsibilities:
1. Work with colleagues to create and manage a schedule of live video news events for delivery to AP’s global business-to-business customer base.
2. Manage, in real time, the activation and deactivation of breaking and scheduled news feeds - ensuring the best and most relevant aspects of a story are delivered.
3. Create information relating to live video news feeds, describing upcoming and ongoing events effectively and conveying critical information regarding the content itself and its terms of use.
4. Liaise with AP’s global customers by answering editorial and service delivery questions through message boards and other channels.
5. Troubleshoot technical delivery issues through liaison with AP and external vendor support teams.
6. Select and curate live video content and other visual material for archiving.
The live producer role is evolving as AP continues to develop its product delivery and production processes, and the specifics of this role will adapt accordingly. You must have the ability and willingness to work at night and on weekends, as coverage demands, as AP is a 24/7 operation.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
2. Authorization to work in the U.K. will be mandatory.
3. Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English. Professional competency in a language besides English is a plus.
We will consider strong candidates who do not meet every listed qualification. You may use a cover letter to describe the unique qualifications you would bring to this role.
Application deadline is December 2, 2024 at 11:59pm EST.
