What you will do:
1. Conduct initial assessments of children to identify specific communication needs.
2. Perform classroom observations and demonstrate best practices to staff.
3. Deliver training and workshops in line with our clinical training pathway, enhancing the skills of educators and caregivers.
4. Participate in meetings such as Team Around the Child (TAC), Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews, and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussions when necessary.
5. Attend weekly meetings with a Lead Clinician to ensure practice standards are met across the group.
6. Although extensive training isn't provided due to the locum nature, you can access peer supervision with other therapists as needed.
7. Support and develop language programmes tailored to our brand new school designed for autistic children and young people up to 16/18 years old.
Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:
* Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
* Recent UK/NHS post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
