About the Role
Altus Education Partnership is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Finance/Accounting Technician to join our dynamic finance team. This role is key in supporting the Head of Finance in managing the financial operations across the Trust's academies, ensuring compliance, timely financial processing, and contributing to the overall financial strategy.
You will play an important role in the Trust's goal of providing the best possible educational provision. Your responsibilities will range from purchase ledger processing to assisting with the preparation of statutory financial reports, managing the finance system, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger Processing:
* Supporting academy staff with ordering and budget management.
* Assisting the central purchase processing team and resolving queries.
* Ensuring timely transaction processing and supplier management.
* Producing reports on purchasing activities.
Finance System Management:
* Updating supplier and bank details, preparing supplier payment runs, and managing staff expenses.
* Posting journals and setting up sales accounts.
Financial Management & Compliance:
* Assisting with month-end reconciliations and preparing financial reports.
* Supporting the preparation of the annual budget and developing financial procedures.
* Monitoring budgets and project costs, including capital projects.
* Ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and controls are effective.
Banking:
* Posting bank transactions and performing monthly bank reconciliations.
* Managing online banking payments.
Procurement & Contract Management:
* Ensuring procurement processes and contract management run smoothly, adhering to financial regulations.
