To supervise and control the operational services on a day to day basis, supporting and assisting the Highway Works Delivery Team Leader in meeting our service purpose.
Responsible for day to day activities of Highway Maintenance, Highway Drainage, Street Lighting and Winter Maintenance provision/works. Monitoring and supervising performance and productivity of all site operatives, ensuring that the authority standards of workmanship are maintained. Remedy any unsatisfactory works and deal with misconduct or performance issues with the Team Leader.
Responsible for the supervision and maintenance of all the tools and equipment which require calibration. Keeping up to date records of inspections and testing of such equipment. Responsible for ensuring that all vehicle and plant checks are carried out.
Undertake regular Tool Box Talks with all Operatives to ensure safe methods of working and regular upskilling of staff. Ensure that the training and qualifications of the workforce are adequate and current, and along with the Team Leader compile, monitor and update as necessary the Training Matrix for the Service Area.
Assist in the management of Lead Operatives and Operatives within delegated areas of responsibility within the Highway Works Delivery team.
