The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Consultant/Engineer with a deep focus on Azure and multi-cloud environments, including AWS. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in designing, building, and maintaining complex cloud infrastructures, spanning distributed software applications, developer workflows, on-premises networks, and infrastructure as code (IaC). This role requires a mix of technical leadership, hands-on implementation, and consulting for a diverse client base.

Responsibilities:
* Architect, implement, and optimise Azure and AWS environments to meet client requirements.
* Design and deploy highly available, scalable, and secure cloud solutions.
* Utilise Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
* Implement cloud security best practices.
* Configure and troubleshoot cloud, hybrid, and on-premises networks including VPCs, VPNs, ExpressRoute, NSGs, load balancers, firewalls, and SD-WAN.
* Manage and optimise virtualised environments using VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud-native solutions.
* Automate deployments, monitoring, and scaling using Cloud tools.
* Work closely with clients to define cloud migration strategies and modernisation roadmaps.
* Lead multi-cloud transformation projects, advising on best practices and cost optimisation.
* Act as a technical escalation point for the service desk.
* Provide training and mentoring to junior engineers.
* Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation on designs, processes, and infrastructure configurations.
* Ensure adherence to change management processes.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing complex Azure and AWS environments.
* Strong knowledge of Azure Virtual Networks, Azure AD, Azure Security Centre, and AWS VPCs.
* Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or ARM Templates.
* Expertise in virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, and Docker.
* Advanced networking skills in firewalls, routing, load balancing, VPNs, DNS, CDN, and SD-WAN.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud, networking, and security.
* Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab.
* Knowledge of cloud cost optimisation strategies.
* Previous experience working with multiple clients in a consulting or MSP environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
* AWS Certified: Solutions Architect Associate/Professional. DevOps Engineer - Professional.
* Experience with hybrid cloud solutions integrating on-premises and cloud resources.
* Familiarity with container orchestration such as Kubernetes, AKS, and EKS.
* Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
