Job Purpose:
Responsible for ensuring the on-time delivery of all new products through active management of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, coordinate, and track new product introduction projects, accurately predicting timelines, budgets and managing project risks.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement a robust capacity planning method for the NPI process, enhancing lead-time accuracy and identifying potential bottlenecks.
3. Proactively resolve project delays by working with multiple departments to ensure minimal impact to the project timeline.
4. Continually explore opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the process.
5. Establish a culture of transparency and continuous improvement within the NPI process.
6. Work with the business to plan future requirements based on forecasted demand and analysis.
Knowledge:
1. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing and business processes would be beneficial.
2. Strong understanding of project management techniques and tools.
3. Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
4. Knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing best practices would be advantageous.
5. Experience in a new product introduction process would be useful.
Skills:
1. Ability to lead a project from initiation through to delivery by engaging with cross-functional teams.
2. Good communicator with both written and verbal skills; confident and capable of leading and presenting in project meetings.
3. Able to develop strong effective relationships with our people.
4. Ability to use CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, would be beneficial.
5. Skilled in using project management tools, including Gantt charts, to track and report project progress.
Strong problem-solving abilities and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
