Team Manager - Occupational Therapy Team Manager – Community Occupational Therapy Team, Adult Social Care We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Occupational Therapist to join our adult social care service in Southampton as team manager for our community occupational therapy team. We are a year into our transformation programme and have far reaching and ambitious plans to build a sustainable adult social care service that supports our residents to live independent and fulfilling lives in communities that work together for the benefit of all. The main purpose of the role is to provide clear and responsive leadership to the occupational therapy team to deliver good quality effective adult social care services in line with statutory responsibility and the principles of best practice. You will provide leadership to ensure practitioners are working in a strengths-based, person centred way with people and their carers who require adult social care intervention, and that they are having conversations about what matters most to people to complete strengths-based assessments promoting independence, health, and wellbeing. leading to positive outcomes for adults with care and support needs. Team Manager Occupational Therapist role: Lead and manage the Community Occupational Therapy Team embedding a strengths-based approach and taking a lead role in developing the interface across internal and external agencies to ensure the provision of quality advice, information, and guidance to enable people to maximise their independence, choice, health, and wellbeing. Lead and manage the delivery of good quality and timely outcome focused Occupational Therapy adult social care provision including proportionate assessment, care and support planning and reviews and cost effective service provision to ensure that people achieve their potential. Be responsible for delivering good quality social care within the team budget, ensuring the efficient use of resources, and delivering best value. Monitor, report, and account for the team budget. Ensure that staff follow the Council’s financial procedures and charging policy. Demonstrate strong and motivational leadership to ensure all staff understand their roles and accountabilities, creating an environment where staff can excel and are committed to providing high standards to the public Directly line manage practitioners including conducting performance appraisals; identify learning and development needs and where relevant providing training to meet these needs; sickness absence management; coordinating all aspects of leave management and ensure HR procedures are followed when needed. Promote the Occupational Therapy service to users, colleagues, and other agencies and to identify and contribute to future service developments.
