We are looking for a Mechanic helper to join our team. This is a full-time position with opportunities to further your career. Please be advised, this is not an apprenticeship opportunity.

This role will be primarily based out of our head office in Langley. A valid driver's license and personal vehicle is required.

Responsibilities:
At Tritech, we aim to provide opportunities that are challenging, fast-paced, that effectively utilize the skills of our team members, and provide variety in day-to-day tasks.
The job responsibilities for this role include:
Technical
* Perform various manual labour tasks to support manufacturing operations.
* Assist welders as directed.
* Load, unload, and ship equipment, materials, and supplies to project sites and receive them from suppliers and sites.
* Manage shop inventory by tracking incoming and outgoing materials and supplies.
* Maintain a clean shop by removing and putting away unwanted materials and tools and other housekeeping tasks as required or assigned.
* Operate metal fabrication equipment including, but not limited to, bandsaws, drill presses, grinders, and sanders.
* Use a variety of hand and power tools and machinery safely and to company policies and procedures.
* Perform Mechanic/Fleet maintenance work on various vehicles and equipment as directed.
* Perform basic services (cleaning, washing, etc.) on a variety of vehicles and equipment as directed by the Fleet/Shop Maintenance department.
* Assist the Fleet/Shop Maintenance department with performing maintenance and repairs on the Tritech facilities.
* Operate forklifts and other shop equipment as trained.
Safety
* Be safety conscious and lead by example in following safety policies and procedures; including fostering a work environment free of discrimination, violence, harassment, and bullying.
* Report all accidents, incidents, and near-misses and participate in resulting inspections and investigations.
* Establish a safe work environment through continuous training and development and by maintaining all safety standards.
* Complete safety documents and reporting with accuracy, in a timely manner, and to the standards, practices, and procedures of the company.
General
* Operate with honesty, integrity, and respect, and maintain a client focus.
* Function in accordance with established standards, legislation, and all company policies and procedures.
* Pursue and participate in self and professional development to maintain, update, and upgrade job knowledge, abilities, skills, and experience.
* Actively participate in the Company’s Performance Management program, including setting personal/professional development goals, completing self-assessments, and participating in quarterly performance management meetings with your reporting Manager.
* Perform other duties as required and at the request of the direct Supervisor and other Tritech management.
Requirements:
* Secondary school diploma, or equivalent, is preferred.
* Previous Mechanic experience (working in a shop, doing maintenance on own vehicles, equipment, etc.)
* Experience operating forklifts with valid certification.
* Good command of the English language.
* Reliable transportation, driver’s license, and a clean driver record.
* The following training and certifications are required, if not already held this training is provided in-house:
o Construction Safety Training Systems Certificate (CSTS), or SiteReadyBC Online Construction Safety Orientation Certificate
o First Aid Certificate
* The following training and certifications are preferred:
o Traffic Control Person Certification
o Fall Protection training
* Experience working with a variety of hand and power tools and machinery is preferred.
* Experience working on an active construction site, preference is given to those with experience working in water/wastewater infrastructure.
* Experience working in warehouses is an asset.
* Must be able to supply steel-toed safety boots.
