We are now seeking to recruit a Quality Technician to join our flagship plant in Havant, UK. Job Responsibilities The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet established standards of quality, reliability, and performance. The primary focus of this role will be on PPAP activities with our main customer, but the Quality Technician will also support other quality assurance functions. Key Responsibilities will include: PPAP Production and Submission: PPAP production and submission for our main Hose assembly customer. This involves liaising with the customer Engineering team and our Product Manager to ensure the specifications are met and achieved from the engineering drawing and from our manufacturing environment. To put together all paperwork, liaising with other internal plants to get information from the source supply plant. Using the customer portal to upload PPAP details and submitting to the customer for review. Quality Control: - Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards. - Monitor and maintain quality control records and documentation. - Conduct regular audits of production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards. - Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for quality issues. - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency. - Use of SAP system to reject non-conforming parts back to suppliers. - Carry out PPAP for customer parts to the requirements laid out in the customer manuals. Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, including inspection reports, test results, and audit findings. - Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting key quality metrics and areas for improvement. - Ensure all quality documentation complies with regulatory and company standards. Training and Support - Provide training to production staff on quality control procedures and standards - Assist in the onboarding of new Quality Technicians, providing guidance and mentorship. Background & Skills To thrive in this role, you should demonstrate: - Degree or relevant technical certification in a related field - Demonstrable experience in a quality assurance or inspection role in a manufacturing environment - Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems - Previous PPAP knowledge and experience. - Experience with customer facing and communication. - Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. - Proficiency in using inspection and testing equipment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. - Good organisational and time management skills. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). - Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and other quality control methodologies.
