Our IT team are responsible for the core technology upon which our firm operates. The portfolio of technologies they manage is diverse and constantly evolving to help support the growth and diversification of the firm, but also to ensure that the technology we have is up to date, secure, reliable and cost effective.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure and Operations sub-team within this area.
What will your role look like?
In this role you will work as part of our Infrastructure and Operations sub-team to provide support with managing the Firm’s storage and compute infrastructure, for both on premise and cloud technologies. You will also work closely with our wider IT and Insights & Analytics teams to help with supporting the Firm’s technology and ensuring our services are as reliable and secure as possible.
Though this is a very varied role, your key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting and administering a range of Operating Systems and platforms.
* Working as a technical escalation point for colleagues within the IT department.
* Supporting with technology delivery to help deliver key departmental and business initiatives.
* Proactive work with IT colleagues, wider business teams and service providers to help develop and support process and disaster recovery methodologies with appropriate testing strategies.
* Taking part in proactive personal and professional development including maintaining awareness of developments in the industry.
* Contributing to the planning of technical projects.
* Providing technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced colleagues.

* A good level of knowledge and experience of working with Hypervisor Technologies and SAN Storage.
* Administration of Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
* Installing and configuring Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft SQL Server/SQL PaaS.
* Application packaging and deployment, and PowerShell Automation.
* Self-motivated, with a passion for technology and a drive to learn more and share your knowledge while staying up to date with industry trends and best practices.
* An effective communicator and a strong team player, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different disciplines.
* Able to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
* Knowledge and understanding of the ITIL Framework.
* The ability to work in a way that is aligned to our four core values of being friendly, partnering, straightforward and confident.
We would be keen to speak to candidates who, in addition to the above, have previous experience of (or exposure to) Microsoft Azure – however is not an essential requirement. We would also encourage applications from candidates who perhaps do not possess all the attributes and experience listed above but are competent with the majority and would be able to quickly develop the additional skills and experience required in post with our support.
