Financial Risk Officer - Treasury, Liquidity, and Interest Rate Risks
Location: Newport / Cardiff / Agile
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Financial Risk team as a Financial Risk Officer. Reporting to the Head of Financial Risk, this role offers a unique opportunity to provide crucial second-line oversight and support in managing the Society's financial risk frameworks, models, and policies.
What will you be doing?
As a Financial Risk Officer, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive assessments, reviews, and analytical reports in areas such as treasury risk, liquidity, and interest rate risks. Your role will involve reviewing financial risk policies and models to provide assurance and improve the effectiveness of controls. You will work closely with colleagues across Financial Risk, Enterprise Risk, Regulatory Reporting, Finance, Treasury, Asset-Liability Management (ALM), Credit, and Operations to ensure the Society's strategic objectives are met with robust risk management practices.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
* Providing support and oversight in delivering the Society's ILAAP and challenging adherence to the liquidity risk appetite.
* Reviewing the Funding Plan, Recovery Plan, Solvent Exit Plan, Resolution Pack, and the Treasury Policy Statement.
* Reviewing pricing and affordability of products to help manage profitability.
* Overseeing and reviewing the liquidity and interest rate risk stress testing and hedging models and refreshing the stress testing policy and framework.
* Maintaining and monitoring an appropriate risk appetite for liquidity and interest rate risks.
* Conducting model reviews to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Qualifications and experience:
* Previous experience as a Senior Analyst/Senior Associate in a financial risk management role or in an external auditing role within the financial services industry.
* Involvement or familiarity with the ILAAP and other liquidity and interest rate risk related regulations, policies, frameworks, and models.
* Qualified Accountant, with a degree in accountancy, finance, economics, or a related field.
