The overall purpose of the role is to provide financial administrative support in the provision of accurate, timely and appropriate accounting records and management information. Provide correct and consistent financial advice/ guidance. This is a temporary role expected to last a minimum of 12 months with the possibility to extend thereafter. The key result areas in the role are as follows: Responsible for keeping up to date and maintaining accurate and timely accounting records in accordance with legislation, accounting standards, and force and data retention regulations. Ensure financial records are maintained to align with audit requirements. Accurate and timely update of financial systems used to manage circa £530m revenue budget and £35m capital budget. Complete any routine administrative functions (including review of requisitions / ECRISs/ raising SSAMI request to invoice customers/ accounting for income received) within the department. Manage Outlook and SSAMi inboxes, deal with the queries and provide guidance as appropriate. Contributing to the development and enhancement of the intranet page. Enable informed decision-making by analysing, collating, extracting, reconciling and manipulating financial data. Ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation and resolution of control accounts to ensure effective stewardship of public funds. Undertake initial investigations into financial processes and financial data, raising issues and concerns to aid the internal audit process. Own and undertake specific tasks in accordance to the agreed statutory yearend timetable. Provide financial administrative advice to other members of the Force ensuring adherence to financial regulations. Any other duties allocated by Management as and when required. Essential Criteria Attained AAT level 2 or equivalent qualification or willing to work towards achieving. Good standard of education with a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 9-4/A-C, including maths or equivalent qualifications. Applicants who do not have the required GCSEs but possess relevant qualifications and/or experience will be considered on an individual basis
