We have two settings, both in the Beckenham area that are bright and airy, both with beautiful outdoor spaces and have a lovely community feel. We are looking for a Child Practitioner with a minimum L2 qualification to support both settings, therefore access to a car is essential. The hours you would be required to work are as follow: Monday to Friday 08:45am to 12:30pm at one setting Monday to Friday 13:30pm to 15:45pm at the other setting (no more than a 15minute drive away) You will perform an important role caring for children, maintaining a safe high-quality, stimulating learning environment with a mix of educational and role play. You will be a role model with a passion for supporting children to succeed, with excellent communication skills, patient, kind, fun, caring with the ability to implement new ideas, continually improve practice and support the management team. The Role: To contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children To be aware of the nursery policies and procedures and ensure these are adhered to To support the Manager to promote welfare of all children in the setting and take part in organising systems to ensure consistent, high-quality care To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns immediately in accordance with child protection and whistleblowing policies To use resources effectively To reflect on practice and routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each child throughout the day To support planning and the provision of a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities and ensuring activities are well-resourced and creatively set-up To lead observations and the assessment of childrens learning and development ensuring records are kept up-to-date, are of a high standard and are shared effectively including Individual Education Plans for children with Special Educational Needs. To develop genuine bonds with your key children and support colleagues to sensitively fulfil their key person responsibilities To work in partnership with all parents/carers, building and maintaining relationships that encourage trust, open communication and involvement in Pre-School life To contribute to the effective recording and resolution of any complaints or investigations, ensuring confidentiality at all times To be professional and a good role model to the children and other staff members, at all times To attend reasonable out-of-working-hours activities, including training, staff meetings, parents evenings and special events To encourage, development and support of other staff members by communicating effectively, sharing knowledge and experience. To respect and value all colleagues, children and parents, encouraging a positive and diverse working environment To cooperate and work effectively with the management team, taking on additional responsibilities/duties and positively promoting developments in policies and procedures. You will have a genuine passion for supporting children, a great understanding of the EYFS curriculum, a bright and bubbly demeanour with a positive approach and someone who loves working in a team environment. Finally, your standard qualifications and training in Early Years will be up to date, you will also be required to provide two referees in line with the Safer Recruitment process.
