Job description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Participating in the daytime AMHP rota, undertaking Mental Health Act assessments as an Approved Mental Health Professional. Ensuring assessments are conducted within operational hours, with flexibility for occasional assessments beyond these times.
* Providing a range of interventions tailored to individuals experiencing mental health crises. Making legally defensible decisions regarding compulsory detention under the Mental Health Act when necessary.
* Conducting complex risk assessments using specialist knowledge and experience in managing high-risk and complex situations. Making evidence-based decisions about emergency responses to the needs of service users and carers, particularly within the context of Mental Health Act assessments and mental health crises.
* Adhering to the standards of proficiency set by the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC). Maintaining registration and address learning or development needs through regular supervision and appraisals.
Requirements:
* Specialist knowledge and experience in managing high-risk and complex mental health situations.
* Ability to make evidence-based decisions in emergency contexts.
* Commitment to maintaining registration and ongoing professional development through supervision and appraisals.
* Excellent communication skills and written ability.
* Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
* Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
