Brief Description
Are you interested in a role supporting the Network Rail Commercial management team to manage materials, operations, and logistics contracts? Working in a newly created role to provide commercial support in the improvement of our supply contracts and supplier performance? If so, this role provides a broad remit across a breadth of contract types that will deliver tangible improvements to passenger and stakeholder performance metrics across the network.
This is a vital role in our Materials, Operations and Logistics (MOL) team within the Route Services Commercial and Procurement function. You will be part of a small specialist commercial team delivering supplier and commercial management. You will be working closely with the MOL post contract and sourcing team and Supply Chain Operations business management teams to help deliver the strategy and framework under which SCO commercial management is run.
To succeed in this role, you will need to work in line with Network Rail’s Commercial Management Framework, to include the administration of commercial assurance and governance practices, support of commercial negotiations and disputes, efficiencies and continuous improvement targets, whilst supporting our contract teams to meet all regulatory requirements.
Responsible for supporting the robust management of contracts in line with internal and external assurance, governance and regulatory requirements, and providing commercial support to commercial teams in driving cost, risk, relationship and performance value.

Main Responsibilities
1. Responsible for supporting the Commercial and Supply Chain Operations teams to:
2. Manage contract administrative controls and monitoring requirements (using BravoNR e-procurement system and Oracle for spend management)
3. Support internal and external assurance and governance requirements for extensions, variations and novations of contracts
4. Support regulatory requirements associated with managing contracts, to ensure compliance with legislation
5. Support on contractual issues and negotiations
6. Complete audits of supplier obligations to ensure they’re being carried out in accordance with contractual requirements
7. Required to develop rapport and trust at all levels within our customer teams in order to deliver a support service that adds value and meets business needs.

8. Previous post contract commercial management experience related to the types of activities identified in the ‘Main Responsibilities’ section, in either public or private sector environments
9. Previous experience of successfully dealing with contracts including evidence of focused delivery
10. Evidence of building a strong rapport and relationships at all levels with customers and stakeholders
11. Experience of supporting cross-functional teams to deliver results for customers
