Overview
We are seeking an experienced Planner to join our client on an exciting, high-profile new school build valued at £110 million. This project will establish a state-of-the-art educational facility, incorporating the latest in sustainable construction and advanced architectural design. The successful candidate will play a critical role in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities from inception through to completion, ensuring timely delivery while meeting quality and budgetary requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and Maintain Project Schedules: Create and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, outlining project milestones, critical paths, and resource allocation.
2. Progress Monitoring: Track, update, and report on the project's progress, ensuring alignment with project timelines and milestones.
3. Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure all parties are aware of schedule requirements and project changes.
4. Risk Management: Identify potential scheduling risks and implement effective mitigation strategies. Conduct regular reviews to preempt delays and manage risks proactively.
5. Document Control: Maintain detailed records of schedule changes, project adjustments, and other documentation for reporting and analysis.
6. Reporting: Generate and present regular reports, including progress updates, delay analysis, and forecasts, to project stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
7. Resource and Cost Allocation: Work closely with the project team to ensure the efficient allocation of resources in line with project budgets and timelines.
8. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that project schedules comply with industry standards and contractual requirements, incorporating FIDIC contract management principles where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Proven experience as a Planner in construction, ideally on large-scale projects worth £50 million or more.
2. Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
3. Strong understanding of construction processes and project lifecycles, with a focus on educational or institutional buildings being advantageous.
4. Experience with risk management and delay analysis techniques.
5. Knowledge of FIDIC contract frameworks and reporting requirements.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders.
