We’re looking for an exceptional Senior ServiceNow Platform Administrator to help us make a difference to our planet.
As our Senior ServiceNow Platform Administrator, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.

Your world of expertise
You will work within a highly skilled technical team in supporting our platform, which hosts a number of applications including ITSM, ITOM, CSM and SPM. ServiceNow is a strategic platform at the Met Office which we are looking to exploit to its fullest extent, therefore we are looking for a driven and enthusiastic IT professional.
* Take part in, and contribute ideas to, the continual service improvement of our ServiceNow platform, working with product managers, solution architects and delivery partners as necessary, delivering quality outputs to numerous internal stakeholders.
* Identify, investigate, and resolve issues with the platform, assisting team members as necessary. As a ServiceNow administrator, not only do you have the skills to manage the ServiceNow platform, but also have the aptitude to assess and resolve a broad range of IT related issues which may be unique and complex in nature.
* As subject matter expert, curate the quality of core data such as configuration management and location information on the platform.
* Create, own, and maintain technical documentation and support information for colleagues and customers.
* Adhere to team development and support standards including, but not limited to, working in an ITIL support environment.
* Communicate effectively as necessary to a diverse audience ranging from highly technical to end user.
This ServiceNow Platform Administrator role is aligned to Applications Operations Engineer Government Digital and Data Profession Capability Framework.
We operate an on-call roster in Technology to provide 24/7/365 support to respond to operational service requirements. This post may be part of an on-call roster and the postholder would be required to participate in an on-call roster where in operation.

Essential Criteria, skills and experience:
* ServiceNow platform administration expertise, including but not limited to configuration, workflows, scripting, customisations, data management/process (e.g. with users, groups, subscriptions, locations, hardware assets, CMDB/CSDM).
* Experience of working in an IT operations environment with incident response, change and request management.
* Clear enthusiasm for working in IT and an ability to solve abstract IT problems, providing efficient and effective solutions in a timely manner.
* Evidence of an organised and structured approach to work.
* A proven ability to communicate easily, enthusiastically, and professionally with a range of customers.
* Good team-working skills including an ability to coach and mentor junior colleagues, facilitate knowledge sharing and improve wider team capability.

Our typical recruitment process
1. Application
Apply through our careers website. Each application will be assessed against the essential criteria detailed in the job advert. We recommend that you use the CARL or STAR method to answer the key questions. Evidence your answers and reference our values to bring your application to life.
2. Screening
The sift panel will assess all applications against our essential criteria. Our screening process usually takes one to two weeks following the closing date of the advert. After which, we'll be in touch to let you know whether your application has progressed to the next stage.
3. Interview
Most recruitment processes will include a single-stage interview, some of which are virtual interviews and some may be in-person. Our interviews tend to blend competency questions, which focus on the essential criteria, with values-based questions.
4. Offer
If you are successful following the interview, the hiring manager will contact you to offer the role. The Resourcing Team will then follow up with an offer letter and start your onboarding.
5. Onboarding
Before we can confirm a start date, we will first need to complete security clearance and reference checks. These usually take between eight to ten weeks to complete. We'll also discuss any workplace adjustments that you may need. So they are in place on your first day.
For those living outside of the UK, there are some roles where we can sponsor Skilled Worker visas. However, you will still need to pass security clearance which requires you to have resided in the UK for 30 months in the last three years.
