Our new Cook will responsible for the safe provision of quality food and beverage services to our residents, ensuring the individual nutritional requirements and preferences of each resident are met. Your duties will include: Oversee all aspects of food preparation and cooking including presentation, serving of meals, preparing palatable and nutritious meals Ensure food is prepared in appropriate quantities and of suitable consistency for the consumption of individual residents Prepare special diets as directed by dietician or clinical manager guidelines (e.g., diabetic/gluten free) or in accordance with cultural/religious needs Prepare and account for kitchen snacks and meals, made available after kitchen hours Receive and check food deliveries (weigh or count) against orders, whilst checking the quality of all products received Work with the Catering Manager to train and mentor staff and demonstrate positive attitudes Direct and supervise kitchen staff in their duties Skills And Experiences Essential Certificate, Diploma or equivalent in Cookery or similar Ideally experience in Cooking in Aged Care industry Food safety knowledge including handling, cooking, and storage techniques A sound knowledge of Food Safety legislation compliance, Workplace Health, and Safety (WHS), Safe Work Systems and Infection Control principals within an aged care or health care environment Excellent communication skills and customer service skills Desirable Food Safety Supervisor Certificate Apply Now Become a valuable member of the Ballycara team and open doors to exciting career opportunities by submitting your application now We appreciate the interest of all applicants, and while we thank everyone for their submissions, only those who are successful will be contacted for an interview.
