Step into Grounds and Gardens Love spending time outdoors? Interested in a hands-on job with Wigan Council? Take a look at our 7-week training programme running with Wigan & Leigh College from January April 2025. Learn gardening and grounds maintenance skills and gain valuable hands-on experience in a variety of parks, cemeteries and green spaces. The training will help you to prepare and apply for a roles with Wigan Council, including; Seasonal Gardener (Roles available from February) Apprenticeship (Roles available from April) The programme includes: Level 1 Award in Practical Horticulture Skills Health and Safety Level 1 certificate Employment, career planning skills and practice interviews Three days of work experience with Wigan Council with a mixture of college and Wigan Council on-site learning. Lots of support on next steps, including a guaranteed interview and guidance for applying for real job vacancies at the end of the programme. Support with English and Maths (if needed) Interested?
