The Role
We are seeking a Senior Editor with a passion for energy markets and a proven ability to write compelling, market-moving stories. As a Senior Editor, you will lead our coverage of the energy sector, providing insights on power markets, renewables, battery storage and hydrogen among other key areas. You will work closely with a dynamic team of price reporters and analysts, overseeing content creation, ensuring accuracy, and editorial standards, and delivering insights that matter to our clients and the broader market.
How will you help:
* Content Creation & Editing: Write and edit engaging and accurate stories on the latest developments in energy markets (power, renewables, hydrogen and battery storage), including market trends, policy changes, and industry insights
* Market Coverage: Leverage your deep understanding of energy markets to interpret and analyse data, producing stories that are not only informative but also relevant to a professional audience
* Industry Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with key industry players, including market analysts, traders, policymakers, and executives, to ensure comprehensive coverage
* Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor a team of analysts and reporters, ensuring high-quality content and timely delivery. Foster a collaborative and dynamic newsroom environment
* Audience Engagement: Stay connected to our audience’s needs, ensuring our coverage is relevant and actionable. This includes attending industry events, participating in panels, and moderating discussions
What you’ll bring:
* Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience either in a data and insights or financial information provider, or a fast-paced newsroom environment, with a strong focus on power markets (power, renewables, oil, gas, or related sectors)
* Deep understanding of the European energy, renewables and PPA landscape, including key market drivers, regulatory environments, and the ongoing energy transition
* Exceptional ability to write and edit clear, compelling, and impactful stories under tight deadlines
* High standards for accuracy and a keen eye for detail in fast-paced environments
* Proven experience in mentoring a team of analysts and reporters, helping them develop their skills and ensuring high editorial standards
* Existing network within the power and renewables industry
* Familiarity with energy data platforms and tools
* A good sense of humour
