Job summary Ward 513 is a busy medical ward that cares for a variety of patients comprising 24 acute medical beds and 12 respiratory beds. We are looking for registered nurse with a minimum of 1 year's post registration experience to join us. As well as gaining experience in a range of areas, you will be supported to fulfil your potential from a career progression aspect as a nurse and as a leader. Main duties of the job Providing direct patient care, such as administering medications, conducting assessments, and providing support and education to patients and their families Developing and implementing care plans for individual patients, in collaboration with other members of the health care team Monitoring patients' health and wellbeing, and reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff or doctors Participating in clinical audits and other quality improvement initiatives to help ensure that care is delivered in accordance with best practices and national guidelines Providing support and guidance to junior staff, such as student nurses or health care assistants Managing a caseload of patients, including coordinating care with other members of the health care team and ensuring that patients' needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner Take charge of an area/the ward as required Engage in Supervision and teaching, acting as a mentor and role model to junior colleagues Undertake additional roles including acting as link nurse, be responsible for your own knowledge, skills and development Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and to adhere to the ethical and legal standards of the nursing profession.
