PCN Engineers - UK-Wide – OUTSIDE IR35 – 2-Man Teams
FPG have multiple UK-wide long-term OUTSIDE IR35 contract opportunities for a 2-man team of highly skilled PCN Telecoms Site Engineers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PCN infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of our clients' telecommunications networks. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commission and integrate PCN infrastructure components, including antennas, radios, base stations, and associated equipment.
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as inspections, testing, and software upgrades, to ensure optimal performance and reliability of PCN systems.
3. Troubleshoot network issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, network engineers, and field technicians, to coordinate site activities and meet project deadlines.
5. Document all installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities accurately and thoroughly, including site reports, test results, and configuration changes.
6. Adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safety at all times.
Qualifications:
1. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
2. Experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PCN infrastructure, with a strong understanding of wireless communication principles and protocols.
3. Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment used in PCN deployments, such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and RF test equipment.
4. Proficiency with relevant software applications and platforms, including network management systems (NMS), radio planning tools, and configuration management tools.
5. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions under pressure.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and interact professionally with customers and stakeholders.
7. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
