Job Location: Austin Area Middle Schools (Assigned to 1)
Work Schedule: 40 hour work week during school hours, Holidays and summers off – paid.
Job Summary: We are seeking a mental health-focused professional experienced in youth crisis intervention, with a passion for the highest needs students in a Title 1 school setting. Because collaboration is essential, the Youth Advisor will work closely and cooperatively with school administration to assess student’s needs and identify appropriate intervention. The Youth Advisor works under the direction and supervision of the Program Director of the Council on At-Risk Youth (CARY).
The Youth Advisor has responsibility for:
1. Delivering the Aggression Replacement Training (ART) curriculum, including three key components of social skills training, anger management training and empathy training in a small group setting.
2. Conducting individual counseling, coaching, mentoring and behavioral goal plans with participating students.
3. Contacting parents for completion of parent consent forms and organizing, and scheduling parent empowerment training and activities with parent support groups.
4. Conducting at least one community service learning project and/or activity with students assigned to ART groups.
5. Maintaining a student record-keeping system for student demographics, attendance rates, grades and other key program participation indicators.
6. Completing monthly progress reports, time sheets, and student rosters in the case management system and quarterly performance reports.
7. Participating in other data collection activities for the annual evaluation.
8. Participating in weekly CARY staff meetings and other collaboration meetings with the ISD and other social service agency providers.
9. Performing other duties as assigned by the CARY Executive Director, and Program Director, including participating in fundraising events.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in a helping field, or equivalent experience.

15. Reliable transportation, car insurance, and valid driver’s license;
