The Podiatry Service in the North Staffordshire area is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated HCPC Registered Band 7 Advanced Diabetes Podiatrist to join our award-winning Podiatry Service.
As a valued and passionate member of our team, you will provide assessment, treatment, and management/wound care for high-risk patients with complex foot ulceration.
Utilising your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will drive initiatives to improve and enhance outcomes for patients. You will be able to make a real impact within our service and provision of care by working either independently or within multidisciplinary teams in the community, mainly with links to consultant-led outpatient clinics.
There will also be involvement with health education and training events.
Due to the nature of this role, you will be expected to travel independently over a large geographical area in North Staffordshire to work within various settings including clinics and domiciliary.

Main duties of the job
You will provide assessments, working with service users to develop needs and outcome-focused treatment/support plans. Assesses service users and formulates, develops, implements, and evaluates programmes of treatment/care/support for individuals, families, and carers.
As part of this role, you will be expected to:
1. Work closely with uni/multi-disciplinary teams/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues across the spectrum of conditions, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions.
2. Take a lead in the management of complex cases within the field of diabetes/wound management, supporting other staff and co-working when needed.
3. Provide advice and support to others, including co-working cases with less experienced and unregistered staff. Participate in and support staff to apply eligibility criteria and quality assurance processes.
4. Provide supervisory, training, and leadership responsibilities where appropriate and will have some responsibility for team performance and service developments/improvements and demonstrate initiative and creativity in finding solutions to problems.
5. May be required to deputise for the Operational Lead in a professional capacity as required along with supporting and overseeing excellent podiatry practice through mentorship and day-to-day guidance to team members and other professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
* Degree level relevant professional qualification or equivalent.
* Registration with HCPC
* Relevant Post Graduate studies/qualification or equivalent clinical courses within the area of clinical expertise.
* Up to date fieldwork/pre-registration student training.
* Masters qualification in a relevant area that will support the delivery of the service.
* If not already obtained, a commitment to undertaking masters level modules.
* Further clinical study relevant to clinical practice such as management of long-term conditions.
* Attendance at relevant forums e.g. Special Interest Groups.
EXPERIENCE
* Significant experience in the clinical specialism.
* Supporting service users, families, and carers.
