Job Description Principal Developer, Front End Engineering Our Destination “Computing the future of medicine” We are integrating the latest advances in computing and artificial intelligence to develop life-transforming RNA interference (RNAi) medicines. We combine cutting-edge computation and AI with RNAi to make better medicines faster. Our unique approach enables us to differentiate, de-risk, and rapidly deploy our enabling platforms (HepNet™ and GalOmic™) and therapies, improving upon traditional approaches to drug discovery. Our rapid and reproducible process has produced a broad therapeutic pipeline of multiple GalOmic™ RNAi therapies targeting novel genes that have demonstrated disease-modifying potential in preclinical disease models. We are advancing our pipeline towards the clinic, with our most advanced asset (ETX-312, for the treatment of MASH) currently undergoing IND-enabling studies, the final stage of preclinical development. Your Adventure This position offers an amazing opportunity to guide the user experience for a suite of ground-breaking and unique computational tools that contribute to the development of more medicines to treat more patients. Reporting into the Senior Director, Head of Engineering, you will be the UI/UX expert in the company, collaborating with every team - C-suite, AI team, engineers, computational biologists, lawyers, investor relations - to build, from scratch, the front end to our AI tech. Not only will you be delivering a satisfying user experience to highly technical, specialised colleagues, but also a visually polished and impressive showcase to present outside the company to tell our unique story. You will be part of the Engineering team: 7 people at varying experience levels, largely specialising in the back-end stack, with a focus on teamwork, delivery, and efficiency. You will help to upskill the software engineers in this team in building modern, attractive UIs. You’ll be right at ground-zero, owning and designing the look and feel of the technology that will disrupt the pharmaceutical industry The position is based in our office in Paddington, London, UK. The working hours for this role are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. C urrent hybrid working arrangements permit Friday working from home. What you will do Understand our computational technology and how it is used, to guide UI/UX design Work closely with all potential users across the company to deliver interface features Build a visually unified set of interfaces to multiple tools, in line with company branding Ensure the software allows easy and intuitive completion of tasks Ensure the software is aesthetically pleasing to drive usage and deliver striking, memorable, and informative demos Prioritise development of new interfaces and new features in collaboration with other teams Work with relevant teams to deliver improvements in line with business requirements Deploy, maintain, and improve the interfaces, with the rest of the Engineering team Help to found and grow the front-end capacity of the team – by sharing knowledge and expertise and guiding future recruitment Learn, and be curious about, all aspects of the drug discovery process and how we aim to improve it Skills & qualifications Essential: Experience of being responsible for visually impressive and complex web application UI/UX Experience designing software solutions with intuitive user experience and journeys Ability to understand, explain, and simplify complex workflows and concepts Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams React/Typescript Comfortable with common Python web frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask, FastAPI) Cloud native concepts – containerisation (Docker), AWS services for front end development (S3, EC2, ECS, lambda, VPC, API gateway, key-value stores) Linux Agile Team/Technical leadership experience Nice to have: Infrastructure/DevOps Understanding of backend/database stack Vue Our culture & values Our success starts & ends with our team – the passionate, curious and collaborative individuals who work here.
