Madisons Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager on a permanent or freelance basis on behalf of an award winning specialist main contractor, of whom have a new large commercial project in Watford, Hertfordshire.
Our client are a leading contractor, specialising in the design and construction of contemporary facilities. With a track record of hundreds of successful projects across Europe and the UK, they are a recognised D&B contractor in the car parking market across the UK.
Please note due to this role covering projects nationwide, you must be willing to travel to be suitable for this position.
Job role:
* Assist the pre-qualification process of sub-contractors applicable to their project or business scope where necessary via company on-boarding system.
* Collaborate on planning matters with design, engineering and delivery teams on all HS&S matters which may affect the project.
* Contribute to and review project significant risks, assisting in the development of the Construction Phase Plans (CPP) and all associated documentation as required.
* Provide technical and specialist guidance to line and site management in the implementation of HS&S programmes and initiatives.
* Assist in development and implementation of key road maps or improvement plans.
* Undertake SSER inspections on at least a monthly basis, recording findings, advising management as appropriate and conducting follow-up visits or audits within designated timescales.
H&S Manager requirements:
* Formal H&S qualification e.g. Minimum NEBOSH Construction; preferred NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
* Demonstrate a sound understanding of construction processes.
* Experience gained from working directly on or with site teams in a construction environment.
