Job Title: Mechanical Technician
We are seeking skilled mechanical technicians to support the smooth operation of our terminals. This role involves working on a 24/7 schedule, with day and night shifts, and rotating every two weeks.
As a mechanical technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and accessibility of cranes and mobile equipment. Your tasks will include planned maintenance, repairs, and project-related work, as well as providing assistance during equipment delivery, inspection, and commissioning.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including quay cranes, terminal tractors, shuttles, and more. No two days are alike in this dynamic role, where you may need to perform critical repairs or routine maintenance tasks.
About The Role:
* Carry out preventive maintenance and repair works, adhering to company safety standards and minimizing equipment downtime.
* Collect data and provide information while performing work on any asset.
* Manage contractors during equipment delivery and commissioning, ensuring safe working practices.
* Develop and improve method statements and risk assessments for maintenance and repairs.
* Lead by example and encourage others to implement safe working practices.
* Collaborate with stores and Asset Managers to maintain inventory and stock levels.
* Innovate and improve processes to ensure optimal productivity and equipment performance.
* Maintain high standards for equipment availability, dependability, and safety.
Requirements:
* National Qualifications Framework – Minimum Level 3 Qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.)
* Excellent knowledge of equipment maintenance, ideally with experience in gear boxes, engines, hydraulics, lifting equipment, and basic electrical engineering.
Compensation:
We offer a market-competitive compensation package, reflecting the skills and experience required for this role. Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
