We are seeking a good home cook, or a chef looking for a slower paced job to join our team. As a cook in our care home, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and delivering high-quality meals to our residents. If you have a passion for quality home cooking and creating delicious dishes, we would love to hear from you. We are looking to cover 18 to 24 hours per week, with an understanding of increasing these hours to cover holiday. No split shifts. You will be supported by a head chef and kitchen assistants.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and guidelines
- Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following food safety regulations
- Assist in meal planning and preparation, taking into account dietary restrictions and resident preferences
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient meal service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Adhere to all health and safety standards
Requirements:
- A really good home cook used to cooking for larger groups is all you need
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations or willingness to train
- Strong attention to detail and ability to create tasty meals
- Maintaining quality standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work days from 8 am to 6 pm, every other weekend, and cover holidays as required
