Brief:
Are you an experienced MEP Engineer looking for your next challenge? We have an opportunity for you working on one of the largest rail infrastructure projects in the UK focusing on the mechanical and electrical aspects of the project in a lead position.
The Role
You will be the MEP Engineer required to manage the delivery, commissioning and testing of work on HS2 across the North Acton area on the Copthall Tunnels.
You will be responsible for ensuring work is delivered on time, working collaboratively with your suppliers and subcontractors on site to ensure work is completed while reporting to the MEP Delivery Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that all works under your control have identified and managed quality risks, including the completion and recording of installation and commissioning inspections.
2. Identify any issues or defects in the works and work with the suppliers to identify resolutions.
3. Develop the subcontract design and construction methodology. Prepare for the delivery of the works, including resources, procurement, consents, and pre-start documentation.
4. Liaise with multiple stakeholders including Project Managers, Design and Engineering Team, QA team, and Cost Control.
5. Communicate to the Project Manager, QA, and QS teams non-conformances and any instructions received from the client/designer/RE's staff.
6. Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes/variations, subcontractors' attendance, and records of work-related discussions with Client/Designer/Project Team.
7. Identify, review, and manage MEP opportunities and efficiencies at each of the assets.
About You:
1. Previous experience in the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health systems including design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover stages, preferably in a railway environment.
2. A professional qualification or degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
3. Knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing, and best practices.
4. Previous experience working to NEC Contracts.
5. Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Document Control Systems, AutoCAD).
6. CSCS Card.
7. SMSTS/SSSTS.
