About the Role - This role presents a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Building Services Engineer to build upon their existing skillset in delivering building services design and demonstrate fresh ideas. The chosen candidate will require the ambition to always strive to deliver only the highest level of work within their expertise, as well as always ensuring professionalism throughout projects, across all stakeholders. This role provides an excellent balance of autonomy; working within a global company within a local studio-based, supportive team. With a strong portfolio of secured projects, Steensen Varming is privileged to be working with excellent clients and design professionals on some of the most exciting projects both nationally and globally. This is a pivotal role in assisting with the electrical team growth and exposure on national projects within our capital city.
The Role
* Experienced in the full life cycle of projects with building services engineering design from concept, through to commissioning
* Experienced in detailed electrical system design and calculations, using Revit and Amtech software to support your knowledge of exemplar building design and performance
* Appreciation of a design's embodied carbon, and embracing of technologies to improve performance and sustainability in meeting net zero targets
* Prior project experience with Arts, Culture, Heritage buildings, but not essential
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical and practical skills, with the ability to bring fresh perspectives to established methods of design and documentation and resolve technical issues.
* Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, and represent Steensen Varming at meetings with clients and external stakeholders
* Ability to produce and review reports, technical specifications and schedules, models, and drawings to an excellent standard, in a timely manner
* Plan and manage input to Revit for production of design works
* Implement regular internal system improvements and upgrades in line with QA requirements
* Adaptable teamwork focus, to manage evolving business and team needs
Qualifications
* A Bachelor's degree BEng/ BSc or Master's degree MEng/ MSc in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
* Working towards, or a Chartered Member of CIBSE, IET or equivalent body
* A minimum of 5 years experience, within Building Services Engineering
Required Skills
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Attention to Detail: Through attention to detail to ensure accurate, and presented to the company formatting standards.
* Software Proficiency: Familiar with Revit and Amtech. Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Organisation: Contribute to the ongoing organisation, with knowledge of the local market and desire to foster real client relationships
* Business Etiquette: Working with integrity and confidentiality, displaying a high level of emotional intelligence and professionalism.
* Multitasking: Maintain a high attention to detail and accuracy of own work, within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks, people and deadlines.
* Flexibility: Willingness to support a positive company culture and communicate with staff members globally.
* People Management: Ability to support staff and assist with their professional development.
* Development and Growth: A willingness to undertake Continual Professional Development in relevant subjects.
Pay range £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, (pending skills and experience).
