About the Role: The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA), in association with St Anne’s College, wishes to appoint an Evans Pritchard Fellow in African Anthropology. The post-holder must have successfully completed a doctorate in African Anthropology and should have had their doctoral viva within five years of the application closing date (excluding eligible career breaks).An office for research and teaching will be provided at the African Studies Centre, Oxford School of Global and Area Studies, 13 Bevington Road, Oxford. About You: You will have a doctorate in an African Anthropology with the doctoral viva completed no more than five years before the application closing date (excluding eligible career breaks). You will be able to demonstrate experience of qualitative or quantitative research and analytical techniques, with a proven capacity to develop sound research proposals. You will have a publication record or evidence of strong potential for high-quality research outputs published with leading journals, with a clear plan of research to be conducted during the three years of the post. You will be able to demonstrate aptitude and experience in teaching African Anthropology and related topics with the ability to supervise advanced-level Master’s students across a range of dissertation topics and experience in assessing and marking graduate-level work.You will have a firm commitment to promoting awareness and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion and embedding these principles among staff and students.
