UTEC is looking to hire a Group Project Surveyor on a full-time, permanent basis. The Group Project Surveyor will provide technical survey expertise while assisting Project Managers to achieve safe and profitable execution of assigned projects. They will initiate and coordinate communication between all concerned parties including customers, suppliers, and both onshore and offshore Company staff. The Group Project Surveyor will contribute to continually monitoring and improving procedures to ensure quality results are achieved.
The Group Project Surveyor will be allocated to projects across the GeoServices Group, as required, to support heavy workloads in various Business Units. When not engaged in Project Surveyor tasks, the Group Project Surveyor will utilize their expertise and experience to support the UTEC Technical Team.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist to manage complete lifecycle of projects, from award phase, through planning, execution, monitoring, completion, and closeout phases, as well as post-completion evaluation and review.
2. Contribute to project risk assessments prior to mobilization.
3. Confirm and accept transfer of project material generated during the bid stage to project teams, including contract requirements, technical specifications, and commercial terms needed for proper execution of projects.
4. Assist in project execution and be responsible for identification, documentation, and action on contractual variations as they arise.
5. Assist the Operations Management of personnel requirements for projects.
6. Source project equipment both internally and externally for project execution.
7. Identify and mitigate potential technical, commercial, and QHSE risks for assigned projects.
8. Administer and assist with specific project tasks.
9. Utilize the appropriate procedures, work instructions, and forms within the IMS to properly facilitate compliance with Company standards.
10. Review survey specifications in contract and project documentation.
11. Provide input to the preparation of commercial and technical proposals as required.
12. Compile project-specific survey procedures in line with the Company’s operating procedures.
13. Work with other disciplines within the Company to ensure high-quality technical content for commercial and project support.
14. Keep abreast of relevant technical developments, working practices, and Company procedures.
15. Provide technical support to offshore teams as and when required.
16. QC and issue of final reports in line with agreed timescales.
17. Completion of project risk assessments prior to mobilization.
18. Participate in quality control of final deliverables to client.
19. Liaise with internal logistics personnel to coordinate offshore staff and equipment mobilization.
20. Conduct site and client visits as required.
21. Utilize the appropriate procedures, work instructions, and forms within the IMS to properly facilitate compliance with Company standards.
22. Provide technical input to bidding process as required.
23. Promote Company services during day-to-day contact with existing and potential clients.
24. Attend promotional events as required.
25. Monitor project costs (3rd party and internal) against revenue daily, and provide weekly and monthly tracking reports of estimated revenues and costs.
26. Liaise with Cost Controller to ensure timely and accurate tracking of financials.
27. Create/Approve supplier Purchase Orders and invoices (within your authority and responsibility) for procurement within the timeframe required for the accounting department to process and report at the regional monthly P&L meeting.
28. Provide specific performance data/feedback to supervisors of non-direct reports assigned to your projects.
29. Support project briefings and close out review meetings with field staff.
30. Promotion of the MTCS program and UTEC IMS.
31. Help identify HSE, technical, and personal development training needs within the Company.
32. Support the UTEC Technical Team as required.
33. Adhere strictly to the Company's policies including, but not limited to, anti-bribery and Foreign Corrupt Practices.
34. Interpret and apply all the above duties and principles to any company/department projects, assignments, or secondments.
35. Must be available and willing to work offshore in a Senior/Surveyor or Party Chief Role when required from time to time as department projects require.
Required
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
2. Offshore survey industry experience as a Senior Surveyor and/or Party Chief required.
3. Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential.
5. Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
6. Ability to competently and professionally present project materials in client meetings, as well as identify and mitigate client concerns.
7. Ability to work both independently and within teams.
8. Must hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where the Company routinely operates.
