With a robust portfolio of significant projects across the UK, this role is pivotal in shaping the future of sustainable land management.
The consultancy boasts a dynamic team of over 25 specialists, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions in arboriculture and forestry. This team is part of a wider Ecology and BNG team which is one of the largest in the country.

As a Technical Director, you will lead strategic initiatives, drive technical excellence, and nurture client relationships. Your influence will extend across the consultancy, shaping project outcomes and the professional development of your team.
My client requires a leader with a deep understanding of arboriculture and forestry, coupled with a proven track record in consultancy. Your strategic mindset, combined with your ability to inspire and guide a team, will be key to your success.
Responsibilities:
1. People management and development.
2. Fee-earning technical work in arboriculture and/or forestry.
3. Work winning activity, for example leading and reviewing fee proposals and tender inputs, maintaining and growing client relationships.
4. Acting as point of contact for the arboriculture & forestry team for both internal and external clients.
5. Problem solving and agility - leading the team across a wide range of projects, market sectors and geographic locations.
6. Providing mentoring and support to the team.
7. Commercial and technical accountability.
Qualifications:
1. Demonstrable high level of technical expertise in and around arboriculture and/or forestry.
2. A desire to use your technical acumen, passion and entrepreneurial spirit to grow this workstream within an already successful team.
3. Established soft and hard skills associated with excellent team leadership.
