About the role
AAK are seeking to appoint a Site Mechanical Engineer to join the Hull Maintenance team, working Monday – Friday in a challenging but exciting role. This role will be responsible for supporting the maintenance team daily and providing engineering support for solutions to plant issues.
The role will also have specific responsibility for all aspects of Compliance Ammonia system, PSSR, PUWER, LOLER etc. This role will support in the development of engineering standards by collaborating with the Global engineering team and will be instrumental in supporting the sites Reliability Program.
Main responsibilities will include:
·Ensure a safe place of work through the application of the site safety policy and procedure
·Create and implement site Engineering standards working with the Global operations team to national and international standards
·Key liaison 7 coordinator for OEM maintenance programs and improvement projects
·Support key maintenance activities to reduce downtime and reactive maintenance and move to planned work
·Site responsible for all compliance and statutory related inspections and modifications including documentation, excluding electrical (this will be covered by the Electrical manager)
·Work alongside maintenance to support the organisation to coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with their operations. From area shutdowns to annual plant shutdowns to ensure engineering activities are planned and effective
·Manage relationships with external contractors to align on site contractor standards
·Support stores to ensure our critical spares are stocked and managed
·Ensure that all compliance and statutory inspections are scheduled, completed and any actions complete in a timely manner. Set up service contract where applicable.
·Correct allocation of cost relative to OPEX & CAPEX in accordance to the AAK financial specifications for Capex and D&A
·Be accountable for the mechanical integrity of the site ammonia systems and upgrade the Ammonia compressor rooms to world-class level.
About you
The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience.
·Time served HNC/ HND in Engineering is essential. Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline would be desirable.
·Working knowledge of Maintenance Management and techniques
·Knowledge of reliability principles criticality analysis, downtime reviews, MTTR, MTBF and critical spares
·Ability to develop engineering solutions to complex engineering issues
·Have a good understanding of current Compliance regulations.
·Computer literate
·Proven leadership capabilities
·Strong problem-solving skills.
·Strong attention to detail.
·Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
·Able to manage and prioritise workloads.
