Workshop Engineer
Salary: £15.50 + per hour
Hours: 8am – 5pm (also includes an on-call rota; overtime is available)
The Role
The workshop engineer will take complete responsibility for repairing electrical motors, pumps, and gearboxes and any specific workshop tasks as required by the Supervisor/Manager.
* Undertakes repair of electric motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
* Ensures deadlines are met to meet customer expectations.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
* Overhauls a wide variety of pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
* Carries out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and assembly of pumps and other related rotating equipment.
* Fault-finds on breakdown equipment.
* Adheres to Health and Safety protocols.
* Completes workshop documentation and passes it to the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
* Completes daily timesheets.
* Keeps a clean and tidy work area.
* Available for call-out shifts or overtime as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
* Performs any other duties within capabilities as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience with electrical motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
* Basic computer skills required.
* Knowledge of safety protocols and PPE.
* Team player.
* Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
* Good timekeeping skills are essential.
