Role Overview
As a Media Planner & Buyer, you will play a key role in developing strategic, multi-channel media plans and negotiating value-driven buys to maximise client success. Working across digital, social, programmatic, print, outdoor, and broadcast media, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution and performance-driven campaigns.
This role requires a blend of analytical skills, creative problem-solving, and commercial acumen to plan, execute, and oversee the optimisation of campaigns effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop strategic media plans across digital and traditional channels, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
* Use audience insights, competitor analysis, and industry trends to shape recommendations.
* Balance brand awareness and performance marketing goals, tailoring strategies to different campaign phases.
Media Buying & Negotiation
* Negotiate and secure cost-effective media placements while maximising added value.
* Work closely with publishers, networks, and platforms to identify new opportunities and secure first-to-market deals.
* Ensure all media buys align with budget allocations and performance KPIs.
* Oversee the activation, tracking, and optimisation of media campaigns across all channels.
* Monitor campaign performance, making data-driven adjustments to improve efficiency and ROI.
* Ensure smooth execution through close collaboration with account teams and external partners.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
* Use analytics tools to measure success, identify trends, and inform future strategies.
* Lead post-campaign analysis, evaluating effectiveness and making recommendations for improvement.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
* Present media strategies, rationale, and performance updates to clients in an articulate and confident manner.
* Act as a trusted advisor, keeping clients informed about industry trends and emerging media opportunities.
* Work closely with creative, content, and data teams to ensure media plans align with campaign messaging and goals.
Skills & Experience
* 2+ years of experience in media planning and/or buying across digital and traditional channels.
* Strong knowledge of media platforms, audience insights, and campaign performance metrics.
* Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word & Powerpoint.
* Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and optimise campaign performance.
* Strong negotiation skills and understanding of media pricing models.
* Ability to present and communicate strategic recommendations and campaign insights effectively.
* Knowledge of print, outdoor, and broadcast media buying.
* Experience in higher education marketing or B2B media planning.
* Knowledge of and / or experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
* Experience with measurement tools, especially Google Analytics.
* Google Ads or Meta certifications.
