Functional Skills TutorWe are seeking a Educator to join our team as a Functional Skills Tutor. The role is working with students on a 1:1 basis on roll at a specialist provision for students with SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties)at a small Lancashire school.The majority of students are disengaged, reluctant learners who can show challenging behaviours, often being referred following trauma. As a result the working environment can on occasion be challenging.

You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals by providing them with the necessary skills to thrive in their daily lives.This sessional role includes working Monday to Friday and can be very flexible, depending on your availability. Each case is long term and hours range depending on the needs of the students.ResponsibilitiesTeaching Maths, English ,Science, and PHSEPlanning engaging sessionsTutor and educate individuals in various life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and self-careDevelop and implement personalised lesson plans based on individual needs and goalsProvide guidance and support to individuals in developing independence and self-confidenceAssist individuals in developing social skills and building positive relationshipsMonitor progress and provide feedback to individuals and their familiesCollaborate with other professionals, such as teachers and therapists, to ensure comprehensive careMaintain accurate records of individual progress and activitiesSupport students with GCSE MathsYou Will ideally Have:Experience Teaching Maths and EnglishStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenPatience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help othersAbility to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each individualExcellent organisational skills and attention to detailHowever the school is prepared to accept candidates who are passionate about ensuring every child has an opportunity to reach their potential .Applicants with a non- educational background are welcomed providing they have transferrable skills that will help them dealing withTPBN1_UKTJ
