Refuge, an award winning national charity, is recruiting a Head of Operations to join the operations management team. This post is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supportiung the director of operations to lead an effective and cohesive operational management team to oversee the development and delivery of specialist operational services for survivors, ensuring that all staff provide the highest standards of support, that all contract requirements are fully met and that services are shaped by the needs of service users. Working in conjuction with the other two heads of operations and the director you will manage a calendar of operational management review and strategic oversight meetings with relevant operational staff and managers, the performance team and where appropriate invited external colleagues in the areas of Child Safeguarding, Adult Safeguarding, and Service Audit and Performance Management to ensure reflection, learnings and continuous improvement with programmed actions. You will also be responsible for delivering required performance with compliance to all specifications to all projects and contracts ensuring proactive monitoring and project management. About you: • You will be an experienced senior manager with a track record of leading and managing services for domestic abuse and other forms of gender based violence. • You will need demonstrable experience of monitoring and auditing service quality and performance management with extensive experience of sensitively assessing and responding to the needs and risks of women and children experiencing domestic abuse. An ability to represent and advocate on behalf of Refuge at the highest level is also required. • The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to lead a team and have sound judgment in crisis situations including where lives need to be protected. A proven ability to manage risk and recognise potential impact of decisions across all sections of the organisation will also be required.
