As an Assistant Data Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing, analysing, and reporting on product data, with a focus on ensuring accuracy and maintaining high data quality. A deep understanding of data governance, particularly in relation to product master data, will be essential. This role will involve close collaboration across teams and systems to extract, analyse, and leverage data that supports the wider business. Your attention to detail and curiosity will be critical in identifying and resolving data inconsistencies, while a forward-thinking mindset will help the business stay ahead of customer needs. The Purpose of the Role: This role is part of a small team of analysts within the larger master data function. You will balance business-as-usual tasks with project-based work, supporting specific data needs and contributing as a product data subject matter expert to drive the business forward. Strong organisational skills, a proactive attitude, and excellent communication abilities are essential to succeed in working with a diverse range of stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Support the business with product data requests, using your technical skills to extract data from a variety of systems. Utilise the internal ticketing platform to manage queries and communicate effectively ensuring a positive outcome for end users. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that their data needs are met. Assist in internal audits of product data, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance. Take ownership of reporting for product and SKU onboarding processes, managing risks, and providing timely updates to the Master Data Leadership Team. Attend project meetings and provide clear updates where required relative to the data. Management of a suite of data quality reports, proactively resolving data issues. Location: This is a hybrid role with 2 day per week required in our Nuneaton Head Office (CV10 7RH). Occasionally you may be required to travel to other sites or supplier visits. Key Requirements SQL Proficiency: Strong understanding of SQL with experience in industry-standard data management practices and database architecture. Retail Knowledge: Familiarity with the retail lifecycle and the critical role accurate data plays across business functions. Data Communication: Ability to quickly grasp complex data and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders. Analytical Thinking: Skilled in identifying improvement opportunities and proposing data-driven solutions. Problem-Solving: Logical, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving with a focus on accuracy. Excel Expertise: Proficient in Excel, with experience managing and analysing large datasets. Data Warehouse Experience: Proven ability to extract, analyse, and deliver insights from a data warehouse (preferably Redshift) using tools like DataGrip and Metabase. Accountability: Strong sense of responsibility for delivering high-quality work. Data Storytelling: Confident in translating complex data into clear, impactful narratives for various stakeholders.
