Job Description
A leading food retailer and wholesaler in the North West of England is looking to recruit a Senior Buying Manager to oversee the Buying and Category Strategy for their Chilled Food ranges by effectively sourcing and negotiating the optimum cost price with suppliers. The company are a winner of multiple awards for their products and service and have won awards in recognition of the way the treat their employees.
About the Role
The jobholder will be accountable for developing and bringing to market a profitable category range using their excellent market and product knowledge. With responsibility both branded and own brand ranges, you will be required to identify and source new suppliers as well as optimising terms with the current supply base, with a particular emphasis on NPD and Innovation. You will also be required to manage the price files associated with the contracts and to execute in season promotional activity to optimise sales, profit and supplier income.
About the Person
With Buying / Trading experience in the Retail or Wholesale sector in a food category (preferably short shelf life such as dairy, deli etc) you will have a proven track record of success in managing the trading of your category from top to bottom.
