Commercial Director, £85,000, West Dorset
Rubicon’s Executive Search & Selection Division has been appointed by a private equity-backed manufacturing company to support their search for a new Commercial Director, pivotal to their continued transformation and growth.
As a key member of a newly formed leadership team, this role reports directly to the Managing Director and leads the commercial function of a top-tier bespoke engineering services company. The successful Commercial Director will have a unique opportunity to shape the commercial strategy with full autonomy, driving business success while managing key customer relationships across the aerospace sector.

As Commercial Director, you will:
* Develop and implement the commercial strategy to drive profitability and align with the company’s wider business objectives.
* Cultivate and maintain robust client relationships by nurturing existing partnerships and leading initiatives to attract new clients, ensuring sustainable growth.
* Oversee pricing, forecasting, and commercial decisions, focusing on achieving profit-margin targets and ensuring accurate financial projections.
* Lead and mentor the commercial team, promoting a high-performance culture with an emphasis on growth and professional development.
* Drive contractual negotiations with key clients, securing agreements that meet company objectives and ensure long-term value.
* Establish partnerships with third-party providers, ensuring contracts are fair, compliant, and align with strategic business goals .
* Collaborate closely with the leadership team and other departments, fostering cross-functional alignment to support the company’s mission and objectives.
The ideal Commercial Director will:
* Have proven experience in a similar senior leadership role, ideally within engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing.
* Demonstrate a commitment to learning and continuous professional development .
* Possess strong strategic thinking skills alongside a robust commercial acumen.
* Be a skilled negotiator, communicator, and adept at building lasting relationships.
* Have solid financial literacy, with hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.
