Location of the role can be based in either Birmingham or London.
Base salary: £79300 pa to £99150 pa if based in London, £67450 pa to £84350 pa if based in Birmingham, depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer a flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top of the base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits.

As the Head of Risk - Programme/ Enterprise you will be responsible for:
* Developing and implementing standards, policy and process, reporting and monitoring performance of the overall risk and opportunity process, focusing on Enterprise Risk and Risk Management support.
* Supporting the Director of Risk and Opportunity in the development and implementation of risk standards, policies and processes.
* Implementing Risk & Opportunity Management within various directorates and reporting performance into relevant governance forums.
* Facilitating the review and update of the Strategic Risk Register with SLT, Exec & HS2 Board.
* Reporting to HS2 Exec and Board on key Risks, the Risk Management Framework, performance and continuous improvement.
* Communicating with internal and external stakeholders on key Risks and the Risk Management Framework.
* Leading the development of an integrated view of risk across HS2.
* Providing guidance in risk management and mitigation to leaders across HS2 and external bodies.
* Leading the risk and opportunity direct team, setting objectives, reviewing performance and ensuring necessary skills are present.
* Supporting event risk and opportunity owners in the identification of risks and opportunities and development of mitigation plans.
* Actively promoting and embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work.

* Ability to implement comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks.
Knowledge:
* Recognised Risk Management qualification (IRM or APM).
* Experience in project/programme risk management within large scale projects.
* Experience applying risk management concepts to large scale projects.
* Experience leading and developing a team within a major project or programme.
* Experience using risk management systems such as Xactium and Oracle Primavera Risk.
* Experience implementing Enterprise Risk Management within a complex organisation.
* Understanding of Risk & Opportunity Management within a complex programme.
Type of Experience:
* Experience reporting at Board level and advising senior stakeholders on risk management.
* Experience establishing and managing systems to support business goals.
* Experience integrating an extended supply chain with a client risk and opportunity register.
* Experience in risk and opportunity assurance and governance processes.
