Main duties of the job
As a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse, your main duties will be:
1. Provide a defined level of specialist assessment and access to interventions for a diverse patient group and their families under the care programme approach.
2. Provide timely or occasionally intensive support to patients within their community setting.
3. Demonstrate active clinical and managerial leadership skills within the team, providing education and supervision to junior staff members and other professionals.
Job responsibilities
Community Psychiatric Nurse, Band 6, 18.75 hours per week, office hours 9-5 on 2.5 days a week. Flexibility to work alternative weeks of 3 days one week and 2 days the following week is available.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health Nurse to join our MHSOP Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) within the Rushcliffe locality. We provide assessment, treatment, and support for service users with a diagnosis of dementia or those over the age of 65 with a mental health condition.
The team provides specialist assessment, therapy, and treatment, working to an individually tailored care plan to enable older individuals with mental health difficulties to engage in available services and lead independent lives.
Service delivery occurs in patients' homes within the community, aiming to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and facilitate transitions back home following hospital stays.
There will be an expectation to work closely with current Intensive Home Treatment Teams (IHTTs) and CRHTs in the locality.
You will provide Community Mental Health nursing input, specialist assessments, and support and supervision to junior team members.
You must be an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration, proven post-qualification experience, and experience working with this client group and in multi-disciplinary settings.
A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
